Our Ages & Stages
Primary Carers
Tamariki will have a “go to carer” throughout their time with us.

Growing Wings
We help tamariki grow their wings so when they leave the home nest, they can take flight at school as their next chapter.
Child-led Learning
We offer a child-led, heart centred approach where relationships are at the core of our philosophy.

What We Offer
At Growing Wings, we understand that every tamariki’s journey is unique and precious. From their first smiles to their first steps into school, each developmental stage plays a vital role in shaping who they become.
Our commitment is to provide a nurturing environment where tamariki can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace, surrounded by love and aroha (compassion).
Discover how we support each roopu (group) with tailored care and educational experiences that foster curiosity and mana (confidence), and the joy of learning—a feeling that sparks excitement, creativity, and a lifelong passion for discovery.
Through engaging learning opportunities and meaningful connections, tamariki are encouraged to explore the world around them with wonder and enthusiasm.
Under 2s
Our dedicated kaiako establish close, nurturing relationships with your peepi integrating personal attention with essential developmental learning opportunities that support them exactly where they are at.
These deep connections are at the heart of everything we do, as we believe that strong relationships are the foundation for a child’s emotional security and sense of belonging.
2-3 year olds
Our curriculum emphasises playful learning, helping tamariki build language skills, socialise with their hoa (friends), and develop the confidence to explore their expanding world.
In this nurturing environment, kaiako foster meaningful whanaungatanga (relationships) with tamariki, supporting their emotional and social development.
3-5 year olds
For our older tamariki, our tuakana, we prepare them the exciting journey ahead, primary school and beyond. Our focus is on building essential skills like pukenga reo (literacy), pangarau (numeracy), and tikanga pāpori (social competence), ensuring a smooth transition to formal schooling with mātauranga (understanding), confidence, and readiness.
We believe that through strong connections and a safe, caring space, tamariki can confidently take on new challenges, build mātauranga (understanding), and celebrate their unique learning journey.
